GEOGRAPHIC POSITION

Croatia occupies the largest part of the eastern coast. The Adriatic Sea, as a part of the Mediterranean, penetrates deeply into European soil. Croatia’s shoreline and islands dominate the Adriatic coastline. The Dinara Mountain Range separates the Mediterranean region from the central European part. It spans from the Alps’ easterly edges in the North-West to the Danube’s shores in the East, covering the southern Pannonian lowlands.

Along the Adriatic coast, January temperatures range from 5-9°C, while July temperatures are 23-26°C. The winter sea temperature is about 12°C, rising to 25°C in the summer.
